The History of Conveyor Belting | stop-du.org

Conveyor belting goes as far back as the 19th century. In fact it was all the way back in 1892 when Thomas Robins invented something more primitive than we see today. This was used to transport coal to various points. A couple of years later steel conveyor belts were invented, which made life a lot easier to manage. In fact the mining industry really took off from this point. The great Henry Ford invented a conveyor belt for his factory in Michigin. From 1970 these belts started to really develop and people saw the value in them. France invented the longest belt of this kind and there was also a belt invented which took on a bit of a turn as it edged its way around. These soon faded out because people found they were less durable than what we get today. Delhi was busy invented something which was appropriate for the elevators.
