| After hinting about an upcoming contest and giveway off-and-on during the past few weeks, I'm extremely excited to announce the first (and definitely not the last) contest on the Stereo/Pirate blog. Seeing how this is going to be the first contest on the site, I wanted to make sure I kicked things off with a bang. After mulling over a couple of different ideas the past few months, I came across the new single from Conveyor a little while back and instantly realized that would be the perfect gift to share to someone for free. As you can tell from my review of the single "Mukraker," I became quite hooked on this tune from the first time I listened to it all the way through. Full of various layers of sounds, from lush instrumentals to soothing harmonies, "Mukraker" is a wonderful example of a band discovering new-found talents in a variety of different sounds and musical styles. To compliment this addicting song on the 7″ split single release, Conveyor teamed up with the enthralling band ILLUMNTR to showcase their enigmatic rush of sound in their single "Gulf Hymn." When it came time for this limited clear vinyl 7″ record to be pressed, I immediately knew this would be a great prize to giveaway for the first contest on the Stereo/Pirate site.
